5U4 (5U4B, 5U4GB all the same)is a very large tube. Be sure you have room for an 8 inch tube. Best for 40 to 80 watts Class AB, 25 to 40 watts Class A This tube has fairly high impedance - therefore, it contributes a lot of sag when it is pushed correctly. A very "tuby" sounding rectifier. Suggested for 2 x 6L6, EL34, 7027, 6550, KT66, KT88 or 4 x 6V6, 4 x EL84 Be sure to check your amp prior to ordering. You will need to find a location to place an 8 tube socket and another small transformer. To install the kit you will have to be able to get to the power transformer's primary and secondary wires, and find the existing solid state rectifier so you can disconnect it. It is best to check the amp list before ordering. We will continue to update the list as we inspect more amps.
