This is a job that does require technicial skill. You will be working with the most powerful/dangerous part of the amp. The high current, high voltage AC and High Voltage DC suppies of the amplifier.
It will also require the tools to cut a large tube socket hole, and ability to find parts on the circuit board of your amp.
Amps that are known to be compatible at this time.
NEW, the kit includes a spec page for installation on a Fender Vibro King!
Looks like a sweet project on a Fender Blue DeVille!
Fender Bandmaster (easiest, even for dual tubes),
Bassman,
Bassman 70,
Bassman 10,
Pro Reverb 70 watt,
Super Reverb 70 watt
Fender Reissue Deluxe Reverb,
Fender Vibroverb reissue (but with a notable installation problem,)
Marshall JCM 800 non-channel switching 50 and 100W (crowded on 50 watt models)
Marshall model 1959
Successful, and great sounding installations by customers on the Peavey 5150 (5U4 kit) and a Vox AC30 without a rectifier tube (5AR4 kit)
If your amp is not listed here is how to determine compatibility.
Look to see if there is room on the amp chassis, both inside and out for another 8 pin (large) tube socket, and an extra tube as large as a 6V6 (minimum) or larger.
You will also need space for an extra tranformer, about 4 in wide, by 2 in deep and 3 in high somewhere on the chassis near the new tube.
Additionally you will need either a schematic or layout drawing so you can find the existing solid state rectifier and disable it, plus make the connections to the existing power supply.
